About Crescent Waterfall

Crescent Waterfall is a unique natural phenomenon in Jinan Crescent Spring. When the groundwater level of Baotu Spring exceeds the critical value of 29 meters, the spring water will emerge from the stone sinus at the top of Crescent Spring to form a waterfall landscape. This phenomenon is named after the spring water gushes out from the top of the mushroom-shaped stalactite and then falls into the pool, creating the visual effect of "a three-foot waterfall splashing jade beads". The spring water erupts from the interaction between special geological structures and hydrological conditions. The groundwater is blocked by the igneous rock mass and rises along the karst fissures. It erupts through the stone sinus with a diameter of about 20 centimeters at the top. When the spring water erupts, it flows out from the stone sinus 3 meters away from the pool surface at a flow rate of 0.
