About South Gate
The South Gate is a landmark building in Qilin District, Qujing City, Yunnan Province. It was originally the "Laixun Gate" of the south gate of Qujing City in the Ming Dynasty. On July 1, 1997, the reconstruction was completed on the old city ridge 150 meters east of the original site. The tower is 35 meters high and is a palace-style building with flying eaves and sloping pavilions. The main building and the east and west second floors each cover an area of 300 square meters. The walls of the third and fourth floors are inlaid with 334 large-scale serial reliefs from "A Dream of Red Mansions". The South City Gate Square where it is located is located on the central axis of the city. It is a place for citizen activities and large-scale activities such as the "Thousands of People Dancing Kirin".
