About north city gate
The North Gate was the north gate of Runing Prefecture in the Ming Dynasty, also known as Gongbei Gate and North Arch Gate. It is now located in the north of Runan County. It was built in the 18th year of Hongwu's reign in the Ming Dynasty, with Tianzhong Mountain in the north and Wuying Pagoda in the south. The ancient city originally had four gates, east, west, north and south, but now only the north and south gates are relatively complete. It is 38 meters deep in the north and 4.4 meters wide from east to west. Runan County Judicial Office held a special legal aid event at Beichengmen Square. In the 18th year of Hongzhi's reign in the Ming Dynasty, a stone bridge was built outside the north gate of Runing Mansion, named Hongji Bridge.
