About Anshun bridge
Anshun Covered Bridge is located next to Hejiang Pavilion at the intersection of Fuhe River and Nanhe River in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It spans the Nanhe River and has a long history. It was first built in 1277. In 1287, the traveler Marco Polo visited Chengdu and recorded this bridge in his travel notes. The Anshun Covered Bridge is 81 meters long and 6 meters wide. It is a three-hole antique covered bridge in the Ming and Qing Dynasties style. The bridge piers are equipped with water animals, and there are antique archways on both sides of the bridge head. The bridge rails are carved with plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum patterns, and the bridge body is decorated with large reliefs. On the bridge is "Ode to the Covered Bridge" written by the playwright Wei Minglun, and on the south side is a statue of Marco Polo and his travel route map.
