About biquantan
Biquantan is located in Jinshi Township, Xiangtan County, Hunan Province, about 40 kilometers away from Xiangtan City. The pool was formed hundreds of millions of years ago. According to the "Xiangtan County Chronicles" of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty, "in the Tianbao Room of the Tang Dynasty, a spring suddenly gushes out from the rock and looks like indigo", hence the name Biquan. Biquantan was designated as a Xiangtan municipal cultural relic protection unit in 2014. There is a legend about the evil dragon in the Tan area: "The head is in Tieshuguan, Jiangxi, and the tail is in Biquantan, Hunan." To suppress the evil dragon, the folk formed the custom of throwing chains during the Spring Festival. The gravel at the bottom of the pool is in the form of spiral ripples. The water temperature remains at 18-20°C all year round. The daily water inflow is about 60,000 tons. The pH value is 7.
