About xuantingkou
Xuantingkou is a T-shaped intersection formed by the intersection of the east end of Fuheng Street and Jiefang Road in Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is named after the "Hou Xuanting" built by Li Shen, the observer envoy to eastern Zhejiang in the Tang Dynasty. This place has been a transportation hub since the Tang and Song Dynasties. It was used as a parking place for officials' carriages and horses in the Tang Dynasty. It was converted into a "Hezhi Building" restaurant in the Song Dynasty. After reconstruction in the Qing Dynasty, it also served as a dock. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was set up as an execution ground because of its location in a busy city. In 1907, the revolutionary Qiu Jin died here. Historically, the Fu River ran through it and formed a water and land hub, with many shops surrounding it.
