About Xiangxuehai
Xiangxuehai is located on Fuhu Road, Nixiang Village, Guangfu Town, Wuzhong District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of 133,400 square meters. It was named after the cliff carvings inscribed by Song Luo, the governor of Jiangsu in the 35th year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1696). Emperor Kangxi came here many times and Emperor Qianlong six times to appreciate the plum blossoms. There are now Qianlong's imperial stele "The Old Rhymes of Deng Wei's Fragrant Snow Sea Song Again" and the cliff stone carvings of "Fragrant Snow Sea" written by Song Luo. The scenic spot is a classical garden that integrates plum appreciation, tea drinking and sightseeing. It retains architectural remains such as the Plum Blossom Pavilion and the Plum Blossom Pavilion. Among them, the Plum Blossom Pavilion was designed by Yao Chengzu, a descendant of the Xiangshan Gang.
