About Guangfu Old Town
Guangfu Ancient Town is located in Wuzhong District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is a famous historical and cultural town in Jiangsu and a national 4A tourist attraction. Covering an area of 0.62 square kilometers, it is located on the shore of Taihu Lake and at the foot of Dengwei Mountain. It is a peninsula embedded in Taihu Lake. The history can be traced back to the Datong period of Liang Dynasty in the Southern Dynasties, when the Jiuzhen prefect's house was turned into a temple and named "Guangfu". The ancient town is famous for its plum blossom viewing in Xiangxuehai and Guangfu nuclear carving craftsmanship. Among them, Suzhou nuclear carving was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2008. In the first half of 2024, Guangfu Town will achieve a regional GDP of 2 billion yuan.
