About Immortal Bridge
Shenxian Bridge is a historical place name that refers to bridges with the same name in many places in China. Among them, Shenxian Bridge in Baiya Town, Dong'an County, Hunan Province was originally a wooden arcade bridge across the Youjiang River. The bridge was built in the seventeenth year of Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1752), rebuilt in the third year of Xianfeng (1853), and was demolished in 1978 due to river channel reconstruction. The name Shenxianqiao Village has been retained as an administrative village to this day. After the adjustment of township zoning in Dong'an County in 2015, it is still an organized village under the jurisdiction of Baiya City. The Shenxian Bridge in Qingyang Town, Fuling District, is a stone arch bridge built in 1777. It adopts a double-arch structure based on the mountain and is now a cultural relic protection unit.
