About Bawangtai

Bawangtai is an ancient cultural site located in Shuanghe Township, Queshan County, Zhumadian City, Henan Province. According to the "Queshan County Chronicle", it is said that it was the place where Xiang Yu, the overlord of Western Chu in the late Qin Dynasty, stationed his troops, hence its name. The site is located between Zhangdian and Chendian, close to the Huaihe River. It is a flat raised mound, more than 10 meters above the ground, about 300 meters long from north to south, and about 400 meters wide from east to west. There are rich cultural relics such as Han bricks and pottery fragments scattered in the platform. According to historical records, during the late Qin Dynasty, Xiang Yu led his troops to the north and once built a platform here and set up camp.
