About Mirror Rock House
Jingyan Tower is located on the west bank of Baihe Valley in the northwest of Hualou Mountain in Laoshan. It was built by Huang Zongxiang, a Jimo Jinshi during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty. The building no longer exists. Huang Zongxiang did not admire his official career, so he called himself "Jingyan Jingyan Jushi". He lived in seclusion here and wrote the poem "A thousand gold buys a hilltop, and I am comfortable in a spring" to describe its scenery, and wrote the "Jingyan Tower Poetry Collection". Surrounding the building site are scenic views such as the Sky Falling Water and the Flying Spring, the White Crane Pond, and the dangerous rocks and pine trees contrasting with the clear springs in the deep valley. The fourth son of Huang Zongxiang, Huang Zong, lived in Jingyanlou later. He was a scholar during the Kangxi period.
