About Saudi Arabia National Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo 2010 in China
The Saudi Arabian National Pavilion at China's 2010 Shanghai World Expo is located in Area A of the Expo. The pavilion is shaped like a "moon ship" suspended in the sky. Date palm trees are planted on the ground and roof, forming a sky garden with whirling shadows and a rich desert style. The museum focuses on displaying four types of cities: energy city, green city, cultural ancient city, and new economic city, revealing that water, oil and knowledge are the foundation for urban development in Saudi Arabia. On October 8, 2016, the "Moon Ship" Saudi Arabia Pavilion was officially closed, which meant that all foreign pavilions in the Expo site came to a close.
