About Tianshou
Tianshou is a Chinese word whose pinyin is tiān shòu and whose phonetic pronunciation is ㄊㄧㄢ ㄕㄡˋ. It originally refers to the lifespan (natural years) given by nature. It comes from the record in "Historical Records: The Family of Chu" that "Now I am able to die in heaven". Its connotation contains two meanings: one refers to the natural life limit of human beings; the other refers to Tianshou Mountain located in the north of Changping County, Beijing, where thirteen emperors' tombs were built in the Ming Dynasty. During the historical evolution, the word not only retained its ancient meaning, but also evolved into a specific name for the location of the royal mausoleum.
