About Shimenjian
Shimenjian is located at the western foot of Lushan Mountain in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, at an altitude of 400 meters, with a mild climate and abundant rainfall. It is named because Tianchi Mountain and Tiechuan Peak face each other like a gate, and there is a waterfall inside. It is known as the "West Gate of Lushan Mountain". The scenic area covers an area of about 4 million square meters. It is characterized by the remains of Quaternary glaciers. It retains geological landscapes such as Shimenjian ridges and detachment folds, and grows special plants such as heather, taulownia, mantle and thousand-year-old boxwood, forming a natural ecological grand view garden with historical, geological and biological evolutionary connotations. Opening hours are 07:00-18:00 daily. The development history of this scenic spot can be traced back to the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
