About Cloud Cave
Cloud cave, a Chinese word pronounced yún kū, means a cave on a high mountain, a cave shrouded in clouds and mist. This word can be found in Yang Wanli's poem from the Song Dynasty, "The dome of the rock is so high that it is about to crack, looking up at the cave with flying springs and clouds". The word also refers to a specific natural landscape. For example, there is an unfathomable natural stone cave on the south side of Yunmen Mountain in Qingzhou, Shandong. Clouds and mist often emerge from the cave in summer and autumn, so it is commonly known as "Yun Cave". Feng Menglong's "Eternal Words to Awaken the World" tells the story of Taoist Li Qing who went from the "Cloud Cave" to learn Taoism and cultivate immortality.
