About Baxiandun
Baxiandun is located 16.2 kilometers southeast of Wanggezhuang Community, on the southeast coast of Laoshan Mountain. It is a cliff formed by the impact of waves, with an altitude of 105.1 meters, forming the dividing line between the eastern and southern coasts of Laoshan Mountain. This place is named after the myth and legend that the Eight Immortals crossed the sea. At the base of the promontory, there are more than ten collapsed stone piers about 3 meters high. The metamorphic rock layers of the stone piers and stone walls show colorful colors such as red, black, grey, green and white. Baxiandun has strong winds and high waves, and the impact of sea waves is spectacular. It is called "Haiqiao Xiandun" among the twelve scenic spots in Laoshan. Gao Hongtu, a scholar of the Ming Dynasty, once praised it as "the most wonderful and beautiful".
