About North Temple Pagoda

Beisi Pagoda is located in Beisi Pagoda Park, Minsheng East Street, Kelan County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province (formerly Yaozi Slope of Dongjie Village, Lanyi Town). It was originally a building in Tayuan Temple. Today, the temple has been destroyed and only the brick pagoda remains. Built in the ninth year of Zhengtong in the Ming Dynasty (1444), the hexagonal, seven-story solid brick tower with dense eaves is about 17 meters high and consists of three parts: the tower base, the tower body, and the tower brake. The bottom floor of the tower base is made of stone, and the upper part is composed of a hexagonal Xumi base, a flat base railing and a lotus platform, with carved flower patterns; the tower body is divided layer by layer, with wind bells hanging at the corners of the eaves, and imitation wood structure brick carving techniques are used.
