About Snow Mountain Academy
Xueshan Academy is located in the ancient city of Lijiang, Yunnan. It is an official educational institution co-founded by Yang Fu, the first prefect of Liuzhou, and Wan Xianyan, a professor of Confucianism, after the return to exile in the third year of Emperor Yongzheng’s reign in the Qing Dynasty (1725). Before the imperial examination was suspended in 1905, the academy had a history of running schools for 180 years, and had trained a large number of talents including 2 Hanlin scholars, 7 Jinshi scholars, and more than 60 candidates. Since then, the academy has undergone many repairs and reconstructions. In 2011, the academy was restored and rebuilt and officially opened in the ancient city on November 7, 2012.
