About Tuisi Garden

Tuisi Garden is located at No. 234, Xintai Street, Guzhen District, Tongli Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. It was built between the 11th and 13th years of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1885-1887). The garden was built after Ren Lansheng, an official of the Qing Dynasty, was dismissed from office and returned to his hometown. The name of the garden is quoted from the "Zuo Zhuan", which means "Father Lin is the king, you will be loyal when you advance, and you will make up for your mistakes when you retreat." Tuisi Garden covers an area of 5,674 square meters, with a construction area of 2,622 square meters. It is laid out horizontally, with residences, courtyards, and gardens in sequence from west to east. The house consists of a foyer, a tea room, a main hall and two small buildings where the family lives.
