About Zhu Xi Ancestral Hall
The Zhu Xi Ancestral Hall is a clan worship place established by the descendants of Zhu Xi in the Qing Dynasty after they moved to Sichuan during the "Huguang-filled Sichuan" immigration wave. The main ancestral hall was built in the 44th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1779) at the initiative of the descendants of the Zhu family. It was named after the two characters "Kejia" in "Dengke Zhongjia". Later, in the 54th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1789), 700 taels of silver were spent to select a site in Kejia Lane, Chengdu to build the ancestral hall. Due to the expansion of the scale of worship, descendants of the Zhu family built a ancestral temple at Banjie River, Shiling Street, Longquanyi. Its architectural foundation can be traced back to the 14th year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1641). The existing building was repaired and established in the 58th year of Kangxi (1719).
