About Luya Waterfall
Luya Waterfall is a scenic spot located at the foot of the Xuanlian Peak of Taishi Mountain in Songshan Mountain, 6 kilometers northeast of Dengfeng City, Zhengzhou City. It has a drop of 117m and is one of the eight ancient scenic spots in Dengfeng. There is a tall stone cliff in the scenic area. During the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, Lu Hongyi, who was named an admonishing doctor, did not want to be an official and came to live in seclusion here. He recruited talented people from all over the world and gave lectures here. Therefore, the cliff was called "Luya" and the place where Lu Hongyi lived in seclusion was called "thatched cottage". After Lu Hongyi's death, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty changed the name of "Thatched Cottage" to "Luya Temple". In Luyabei Canyon, there is a spring that flows all year round.
