About 天一湖
Tianyi Lake is a lake on the campus of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Its name is taken from the "Book of Changes" "Heaven produces water, and earth produces sixty percent of it", which reflects the culture of traditional Chinese medicine. The lake is connected by fish ponds left behind when the new campus was built. Historically, this land was one of the nine great lakes in ancient China, Putianze. "Shui Jing Zhu" records that it has "many ephedra", which is a traditional Chinese medicine. The gleaming lake, accompanied by the Dachang Building, has a pleasant scenery and swans inhabit it, making it a beautiful sight on campus. The lake carries the ecological wisdom of "Heaven creates water" and constitutes the campus cultural scene. Baduanjin training, flood prevention emergency drills and various volunteer service activities have been held by the lake.
