About Former Residence of Zhou Peiyuan

Zhou Peiyuan's former residence includes the former residence in Houcun, Fangqiao Town, Yixing City, Jiangsu Province and the former residence at No. 112, Yuanshanyi Village, Biji Street, Xishan District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. The former residence in Yixing is a Ming and Qing hall-style building and was listed as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit in 1996; the former residence in Kunming is a two-story, three-bay building with a masonry and wood structure during the Republic of China, with a width of 12.4 meters and a depth of 8.7 meters. It was listed as a district-level and municipal-level cultural relics protection unit in 2003 and 2011 respectively. From 1938 to 1942, Zhou Peiyuan lived in his old residence in Kunming while teaching at Southwest Associated University, where he engaged in turbulence theory research and trained scientists such as Yang Zhenning.
