About Wo Yun Shi
Woyun Stone is located in the middle of Huishan Chunshen Stream in Xihui Park, Wuxi City. In November 1983, it was announced as a municipal cultural relic protection unit by the Wuxi Municipal People's Government. The stone is a slightly rectangular natural boulder, 1.95 meters long, 1.15 meters wide and 1.07 meters high. It lies horizontally in the stream and looks like a mainstay, causing the stream to divide and flow down. The stone surface is engraved with the characters "Woyun" in regular script and signed "Erquanshanren". It is handwritten by Shao Bao, the Minister of Rites in Nanjing during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty. Shao Bao had a good relationship with the poet monk Yuanxian (named Woyun) of Huishan Temple, and the inscription contains a Zen connection. Chunshen Stream is famous for its misty clouds and mist in the rainy season.
