About The former site of Bishan Yinshe
The former site of Bishan Yinshe is located at the east foot of Huishan Mountain and south of Erquan in Xihui Park, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. It is a Wuxi municipal cultural relic protection unit. Founded in the 18th year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty (1482), Qin Xu, a descendant of Qin Guan, formed a society with nine lay scholars in Wuxi. It was first called Shilao Society and later named Bishan Yin Society. This site is the remains of a folk poetry society that has lasted for more than 500 years in Wuxi. It went through many repairs and reconstructions during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the 33rd year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1554), Qin Han joined forces with the rural eunuchs to redeem the site and rebuild it, forming the "Eight Scenic Spots of the Bishan Yin Society".
