About Ming Chi Building
Mingzhi Building was built in 1933 and is located at Nos. 41 and 43, Beijing East Road, Xuanwu District, Nanjing. It was originally the main examination room of the National Government Examination Institute. It adopts a reinforced concrete structure and is shaped like a palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The roof has a single-eave roof and is covered with green glazed tiles. The brackets, eaves, rafters and beams are all painted. The middle part of the existing building has two floors above ground and one underground floor. In front of it is a large cement platform. The platform is surrounded by carved cement fake stone railings. A vertical plaque reading "Mingzhi Tower" hangs under the eaves. There is a banner reading "Loyalty, Filial Piety, Benevolence, Justice, Trust, Love and Peace" hanging under the eaves.
