About Museum of Guihai Steles Forest
The Museum of Guihai Steles Forest was founded in 1984 and is located at No. 1 Longyin Road, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It was formerly the Guihai Steles Forest Exhibition Hall established in 1981. It is both a local comprehensive museum and a national second-level museum. It covers a total area of 40,795 square meters. The Guihai Stele Forest Museum has a collection of 213 cliff stone carvings from the Tang Dynasty to the Republic of China. The newly-built Stele Pavilion "Tuo Garden" displays more than 50 scattered steles and famous steles that have been moved or copied in Guilin. The "Guilin Stone Carving Rubbings Exhibition" in the Stele Pavilion focuses on displaying rubbings with high historical and artistic value such as "Preface to the Poems of Li Bonan Xishan" in the Tang Dynasty and "Yansu Title" in the Song Dynasty.
