About Yutian Shiju
Yutian Shiju is located at No. 9, Xinwu Village, Shahu Community, Shenzhen. It is a Hakka row house building type. It is the third coastal Hakka architectural form after earth buildings and enclosed houses in Hakka settlements. The building is included in the list of unclassified immovable cultural relics in Pingshan District. Its row house style is relatively rare among the Hakka enclosed houses in Pingshan. Pingshan Hakka architecture has gone through development stages such as the family-style round houses in the Kangxi and Qianlong periods, the square houses in the Jiaqing and Daoguang years of the Qing Dynasty, the small-scale establishment in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, and the combination of Chinese and Western brick and wood structures in the 1930s and 1940s.
