About Deng Bangshu's former residence
Deng Bangshu's former residence is located at No. 38 Shiqi Lane, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It was built in the Qing Dynasty and is now an immovable cultural relic in Jiangsu Province. The former residence faces south from the north and has a courtyard layout with two roads and six entrances. The main building is a simple "kou"-shaped Zoumalou structure with no carvings. The Shikumen leads to the Sedan Hall and Xingsu Hall on the east, and the library group and blue buildings on the west. The owner of the former residence, Deng Bangshu, is the great-grandson of Deng Tingzhen, a famous official in the late Qing Dynasty. He was a Jinshi in the 25th year of Guangxu's reign. He once served as editor of the Hanlin Academy and Jilin Civil Affairs Envoy.
