About Xi'an Tang Dynasty City Wall Hanguangmen Site Museum
Xi'an Tanghuang City Wall Hanguangmen Site Museum is located in Hanguangmen of Xi'an City Wall on Hanguang Road, Xi'an City. It is a heritage museum built within the Ming and Qing Xi'an City Walls, a national key cultural relics protection unit. Covering an area of 14,000 square meters and an exhibition hall area of 2,610 square meters, it is a social science museum specializing in archaeological sites. In 1986, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences conducted archaeological excavations on the site. In July 2006, preparations began. In September 2008, the Xi'an Tanghuang City Wall Hanguangmen Site Museum was officially opened. As of the end of 2019, there are 3,655 pieces (sets) of cultural relics in the Xi'an Tang Emperor City Wall Hanguangmen Site Museum, including 77 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics.
