About Former site of Xinmin Society

The Former Site of Xinmin Society (former site of Xinmin Society) was established in 1988 and is located at No. 2 Zhoujiataizi, Xinmin Road, Qiwan Town, Yuelu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is now the Xinmin Community. The former site was first built in the late Qing Dynasty. The building was built in 1918 and covers an area of about 5000m2. The former site of the Xinmin Society was originally a tomb house built by local farmers for the tombs of ancestors. Cai Hesen once rented here. On April 14, 1918, the founding meeting of the Xinmin Society was held in the main hall of Cai Hesen's former residence. Since then, this place has become the meeting place and activity venue of the Xinmin Society. It was burned down in a fire in 1938, and the existing building was rebuilt in 1984.
