About Xixia Museum

The Xixia Museum, a national first-class museum, is located in the Xixia Tombs at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain in Yinchuan City, Ningxia. It is the first special museum in China that uses the Xixia Tombs as the background to comprehensively and systematically reflect the history of the Xixia. The museum was officially completed and opened on September 23, 1998. It was moved to the new building and officially opened to the public on June 12, 2019. It has a construction area of 9,000 square meters, including an exhibition hall area of 5,400 square meters, divided into upper and lower floors. There are 8 exhibition halls of various types. The basic display consists of Xixia history, Xixia royal tombs and Xixia academic research results. There is a "Xixia History and Culture Exhibition" and temporary exhibition halls, with more than 3,300 cultural relics on display.
