About PLA Navy's museum

The Naval Museum of the Chinese People's Liberation Army is located at No. 8 Laiyang Road, Shinan District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. It is adjacent to Lu Xun Park to the east and Little Qingdao Park to the west. It echoes the trestle bridge. It is bordered by the endless sea to the south and the famous scenic spot Qingdao Signal Hill Park to the north. It has a land area of 141.1 acres and a sea area of 225 acres. It is the only military museum in China that reflects the development of the Chinese Navy. In 1988, preparations for the construction of a naval museum began. In October 1989, the Naval Museum was officially opened to the public. In 1993, the Naval Museum was officially named the "Naval Museum of the Chinese People's Liberation Army". On June 26, 2021, the new building of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Naval Museum opened.
