About Giant Panda Museum 1
The Chengdu Giant Panda Museum is located in the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base and will officially open to the public on March 3, 2021. The museum has a construction area of 7,179 square meters and an exhibition area of 4,342 square meters. It is the world's first interactive experience museum with the theme of giant pandas. The museum is divided into seven exhibition areas: "Panda Prequel", "Bamboo Hermit", "Discovering Panda", "Endangered Era", "Road to Conservation", "Ecological Home" and "Creating and Sharing the Future". The design theme reflects the spirit of "Human·Giant Panda·Nature Harmony". It is a museum with the functions of science popularization, public education, display, exhibit collection, protection and academic research. The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding began construction of the Giant Panda Museum in 1992.
