About Du Jinsheng Silk Knitting Museum
Dujinsheng Brocade Museum is located in Dujinsheng Silk Weaving Factory, No. 519 Fengqi Road, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It was completed and opened on May 15, 1997, covering an area of more than 7,000 square meters. As the first thematic brocade museum in China, the museum has four major exhibition areas: a showroom, a raw material preparation workshop, a brocade weaving workshop, and a product display and sales hall. It is equipped with a famous mulberry garden to plant the five famous mulberries in China. It systematically displays the development history of traditional Chinese brocade over more than 2,000 years through nearly a thousand objects and pictures. The museum was formerly a silk weaving workshop founded by Du Jinsheng in 1922. His first brocade work "The Night Tour of the Palace Concubines" won the gold medal at the Philadelphia International Exposition in 1926.
