About China Lock Culture Museum
The Chinese Lock Culture Museum is located at No. 96, Renmin Road, Huangdai Town, Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is a private museum founded by Suzhou Wanshengyi Hardware Lock Co., Ltd. It focuses on the collection, research, and exhibition of ancient Chinese locks. It is open from 9:00 to 17:00 every Tuesday to Saturday. The museum is a base for popular science education and moral education. The origin of locks can be traced back to the knots and "zi" used by early humans. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, sealing seals appeared with mud. During the Neolithic Yangshao Culture period, wooden locks appeared. Metal locks appeared on bronzes in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. From the Eastern Han Dynasty, metal locks with reed structures gradually became popular and became mainstream.
