About Shangyuan Art Museum

Shangyuan Art Museum (also known as Beijing Beishangyuan Modern Art Museum) is a private art institution established in 2007. It is located in Shayukou Village, Qiaozi Town, Huairou District, Beijing. It was initiated by the poet Cheng Xiaobei. The art museum consists of 21 original art buildings, Liang Sicheng's plan exhibition hall, literary club, and art exhibition hall. It covers a total area of 30,000 square meters and a total construction area of 19,700 square meters. The museum is equipped with exhibition space and artist residency facilities. Since 2009, it has provided free residency support for 30-50 domestic and foreign artists from April to November every year through the "International Creation Program", and has continued to hold exhibitions, academic exchanges and young artist support activities simultaneously.
