About South Lake Park
Nanhu Park is located in Lunan District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, covering an area of 5.4 square kilometers. It was originally a mining subsidence area of Kailuan Coal Mine. After years of ecological restoration and management, it has been transformed into an "urban living room" with a beautiful environment, creating an ecological civilization achievement that "turns decay into magic". Before the reconstruction, Nanhu Park was a coal mining subsidence area formed by more than 130 years of mining in Kailuan. The 1976 Tangshan earthquake intensified the collapse of the subsidence area. At the end of 1996, Tangshan City decided to implement a large-scale ecological greening project in line with the policy of "turning disadvantages into advantages and turning decay into magic".
