About Leave the old street behind
Liuli Old Street, also known as Liuliu Historical and Cultural Street, is a historical area located between the West Lake and Xixi Wetland in Xihu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Its name comes from the words of Zhao Gou, Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty, "Xixi will stay". The old street is built along the Liuhe River and is about 400 meters long. There are many ancient bridges across the river. Among them, the Zhongyi Bridge is the oldest existing stone arch bridge in Hangzhou and is a national key cultural relic protection unit. The overall layout of the old street is left as "a water runs through the town, stone bridges lie across it, and houses are built next to the river." In 2025, the Leaving Old Street Historic Area was selected into the first batch of Hangzhou City’s historical area protection list.
