About Ornithologic zoo
Gulangyu Bird Garden is located in Qinyuan, southwest of the Sunlight Rock Scenic Area on Gulangyu Island, Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It was invested and built in 1998 by the Sunlight Rock Scenic Area Management Office. The park covers an area of 7,000 square meters and is covered with a giant mesh structure with a center height of 30 to 40 meters. It is a large-scale bird viewing park that integrates domestication, entertainment, and science popularization. The park has rare bird villages, peacock terraces, wading bird ponds and other viewing areas. The Bird Garden is now open as usual along with the Qin Garden, and can be reached by taking the cable car from the Sunlight Rock mountainside. There are more than 120 species and more than 2,000 birds in the park, including dozens of nationally protected birds.
