About Teochew crocodile rides the autumn wind
Chaozhou Crocodile Crossing the Autumn Wind is a tourist attraction in Xiangqiao District, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province. It is located at the ancient ferry crossing in the middle section of the North Embankment outside Chaozhou City. It is one of the eight scenic spots in Chaozhou. The river here is vast, the banks of kapok are tall and tall, and the shadows of sails are swaying in the autumn, forming a unique landscape of "a light boat traveling westward and eastward", so it is called "Crocodile Crossing the Autumn Wind". When Han Yu was the governor of Chaozhou in the Tang Dynasty, he wrote the "Crocodile Sacrifice" because of the harm caused by crocodiles and set up an altar to drive away crocodiles. According to legend, the crocodiles migrated into the sea from there. During the Song Dynasty, when Chen Yaozuo was in charge of Chaozhou Tongjuan, the crocodile problem reappeared.
