About Wanggengtai
Wanggengtai is an ancient building located on the Qingchen Rock at the southern foot of Wushi Mountain (also known as Daoshan) in Fuzhou. The platform was built by Li Ba, the then magistrate of Fuzhou, in the 27th year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1762, the Renwu year of Qianlong). After Li Ba ascended the platform to overlook the fields and farmers working outside the city, he inscribed "Wanggeng Terrace" and engraved it on the rock. At the same time, he built Wanggeng Pavilion based on the platform, and his poem "Inscribed on Wanggeng Terrace" was also engraved on the stone. It was rebuilt on the original site in 2008.
