About He Art Museum (HEM)
Foshan Shunde District He's Art Museum ("He Art Museum", HEM) is a non-profit private art museum located in Beijiao Town, Shunde District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. It was initiated by the He family of Midea Group. The museum building was designed by the world-renowned architect Tadao Ando, with the concept of "harmony". Its iconic world-first fair-faced concrete double spiral staircase and the geometric shape of "round sky and square earth" won the 2020 American Master of Architecture Award. The collection of the museum covers Chinese and Western modern and contemporary art, with a special focus on the Lingnan School of Painting and modern Chinese art. By planning special exhibitions and holding public education activities, it is committed to becoming an art and cultural hub connecting the local and the world.
