About Qingyun Tower

Qingyun Tower is located in Shanweiling, Wancheng Town, Wanning City, Hainan Province. It is also known as "Shanweiling Tower" and "Wanzhou Tower". It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Hainan Province. The predecessor of the tower, Wenkui Pagoda, was built in the fifth year of Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1666, some say the tenth year of Kangxi's reign/1671). It was later damaged and rebuilt and renamed in the Daoguang Renchen year (1832). The tower body is an octagonal masonry structure, about 27 meters high, with seven floors and seven eaves. The top floor is supported by an octagonal prism to support the spherical tower. The west door on the bottom floor is inlaid with a "Qingyun" stone tablet, and the third floor is inlaid with a "Jiafeng" stone tablet in the same direction. The interior is hollow and the arches have both ventilation and viewing functions.
