About Jiangnan first pass
The first pass in the south of the Yangtze River is located in Xiaoyao Ridge, Fuling Town, Jixi County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, with an altitude of 424 meters. It is an important pass on the Hui-Hangzhou Ancient Road. It was named after Hu Zongxian in the Ming Dynasty because it was the most dangerous pass in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The Yankou Pavilion at Guanjiao is inscribed with Wei style characters "A path leads to Jiangsu and Zhejiang". To climb the pass, you need to go through more than 1,400 granite steps. The plank road is composed of granite slabs embedded in the stone walls. Along the way, there are landscapes of strange stones such as Mopan Stone and Tianguan Stone. The Xiaoyao River runs through the cliffs. The pass is made up of four natural stone bars. It is inscribed with "The First Pass in Jiangnan" on the west and "Huihang Key" on the east.
