About Qingfeng Mountain Cliff Statue
The Qingfeng Mountain Cliff Statue is located on the north side of the narrow valley at the west foot of Qingfeng Mountain in the south of Dongping County, Shandong Province. It is a Buddhist cliff carving and was announced as a municipal cultural relic protection unit by the Tai'an Municipal People's Government in 1994. There are two groups of 24 statues in total: the first group is located on the rock wall near the mountain. It is a statue of a Buddha, two disciples and eighteen Arhats carved during the Jin and Yuan Dynasties. The main Buddha is 1.5 meters high. He sits cross-legged on a vajra throne, performing the fearless and wishing seals. The Arhats on both sides have different postures, holding magical instruments or folding their palms to chant sutras. The second group, located 60 meters below, is a statue of the three Buddhas of the Ming Dynasty.
