About Urumqi Qingquan Temple
Urumqi Qingquan Temple is located in the Qingquan Mountain Scenic Area of Shuimogou District, Urumqi City, Xinjiang. It belongs to the Pure Land School of Han Chinese Buddhism and was founded in 1988, with construction overseen by Wang Chengzhang, covering an area of 6,420 square meters. After ten years of development, the temple has formed a complex primarily composed of the Great Hero Hall, the Mountain Gate, the Maitreya Hall, the Guanyin Hall, and others. Starting in 1992, it established a vegetarian restaurant, a tea house, and a Dharma Affairs Office, enabling the temple to support itself through its own resources. In 2000, the monastic community from Daci’en Temple was invited to take up residence, marking the beginning of a new era of revitalization.
