About Memorial Tower of Sino-Soviet Friendship
The Sino-Soviet Friendship Memorial Tower is located in the square in front of the north gate of the Lushun Museum, Lenin Street, Lushunkou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. It was built to commemorate the profound friendship between the Soviet Red Army troops stationed in Lushunkou and the Chinese people. The Sino-Soviet Friendship Memorial Tower is built of white marble, marble and granite and is 22.2 meters high. The tower base is square in shape, with a length and width of 20 meters each. The two-story granite tower base can be climbed up from all sides. It is surrounded by alabaster railings, with blooming peonies and soaring doves of peace carved on the railings. In 1961, the Sino-Soviet Friendship Monument was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
