About Enshi Tusi Castle
The Enshi Tusi City Scenic Area in Enshi Prefecture is located at No. 138 Tusi Road, Enshi City, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province, just 1.5 kilometers from the center of Enshi City. Covering an area of over 300 mu, the Enshi Tusi City Scenic Area is a folk scenic area featuring historical sites and architectural gardens, designed by the Suzhou Garden Design Institute and constructed by local folk artisans—a replica of an ancient Tusi estate built in the Tujia region. The Tusi system in Enshi Prefecture existed from the Yuan Dynasty until the 13th year of the Yongzheng reign in the Qing Dynasty (1735), spanning more than 450 years across three dynasties. Construction of the Enshi Tusi City Scenic Area began in 1998 and it officially opened to the public in 2002.
