About Qutang Gorge
Qutang Gorge is located in Baidi Town, Fengjie County, Chongqing City. It is the west entrance of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. It is 8 kilometers long and is the shortest section of the Three Gorges. It is famous for its majesty and precipitousness. Chijia Mountain and Baiyan Mountain confront each other on both sides of Kuimen Gorge. The river is narrow and the waves are rough. The scenic spots and historical sites include Baidi City, ancient plank road, pink wall, etc. In December 2015, it was selected as one of the 30 best new tourist attractions in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. In November 2020, it was selected as a new landmark of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor. In July 2022, it was determined to be a national 5A tourist attraction; Kuimen is the fifth set of 10-yuan RMB background patterns.
